Paying renewals by balance or card

Shared hosting and domains are paid in advance. Each one renews one of two ways:

• From balance: paid from your prepaid balance. If it's short and auto top-up is on, auto top-up runs first.

• By card: we use your available balance first and charge your default card for the rest.

Change it anytime:

• Hosting: the hosting page's Billing card, under Renewals paid.

• Domains: the domain's Overview tab, under Pay renewals.

Owners, Admins and Billing members can change how renewals are paid.

If a renewal payment fails, we email the account owner, issue an unpaid invoice, and try again. The balance is used as soon as it covers the amount, and the card is tried again 1, 3 and 5 days later.
