Hourly or monthly, the same full month
Every plan has a monthly price in whole dollars. Its hourly price is that monthly price divided by 672. A server bills for each hour it exists, and once it reaches 672 hours in a month, billing stops until the next month starts.
So there's no choice to make up front. A server you delete after an afternoon costs an afternoon. A server you keep all month costs the monthly price, to the cent.
Example: Pro. Every plan follows the same rule.
Try the numbers
Pick a plan and drag to set how long the server runs this month.
CappedHours past 672 are free for the rest of the month.
Why 672 hours
672 hours is exactly 28 days, the shortest month. Capping there means every month bills the same, whether it has 28 days or 31.
| Month length | Hours in the month | Hours billed | Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| 28 days | 672 | 672 | $32.00 |
| 30 days | 720 | 672 | $32.00 |
| 31 days | 744 | 672 | $32.00 |
Extensions follow the same rule. DDoS protection is $15 a month or $0.0223 an hour, and stops at 672 hours with the server.
Prepaid top-ups
Your account works like a prepaid balance. You add funds in the client portal, and your servers draw from that balance by the hour. Turn on automatic top-up and we'll add funds when the balance runs low, so nothing stops by surprise.
- Minimum top-up: [amount]
- Automatic top-up: choose the amount and the balance that triggers it
- When the balance reaches zero: [what happens and how much notice you get]
Stopped servers still bill
Stopping is not deleting
Snapshots cost $0.06 per GB a month, so keeping a 40 GB snapshot of a server you no longer run costs $2.40 a month instead of the full plan price.
Sales tax
Prices across the site are in US dollars before sales tax. Where tax applies, it's added at checkout and shown as its own line on every invoice. We pass it straight to the state.
Ways to pay
[Accepted cards and payment methods.] Larger top-ups mean fewer card charges, and automatic top-up keeps things simple.
