Watching your server build

After you deploy, the progress page shows each step:

1. order placed and hold applied

2. hardware reserved (bare metal only)

3. installing the image

4. network, SSH keys and first boot

5. ready

Cloud servers usually take a few minutes; bare metal takes longer. You can leave the page.

When it's ready

The page shows the address, and we email you is ready, with how to connect. Hourly billing starts at this point. If you'd rather not get the email, untick Email me when it's ready under While you wait on the progress page.

While you wait

You can also set Reverse DNS and Tags. They're applied once the server is up.

If something goes wrong

We retry the build automatically. If it still can't finish, the page says so, our team follows up, and you aren't charged for the server.
