Power, reboot, reinstall and resize

Control a server from its page.

On a running server's page:

  • Reboot: restarts it.

  • Power off / Power on: billing continues while it's off.

  • More › Reinstall…: wipes the disk and installs a fresh copy of the image you pick, which can be a different operating system or app. Your IP addresses and billing stay the same. Everything on the disk is erased.

  • More › Resize…: moves the server to another size in the same family. The server restarts on the new size, and the new rate applies from the next hour. Bare metal servers can't be resized.

These actions only work while the server is running or stopped. From Instances, you can also reboot or power off several servers at once: tick them and use the bar that appears.

Owners, Admins and Technical members can control servers.
