A VPC network is a private network for servers in one location. Traffic on it stays off the internet and doesn't count toward your transfer allowance. VPC networks are free.
Creating a network
Choose Network › VPC Networks › New VPC network.
Name it and pick a location.
Pick an address range. Choose Choose one for me, or Use my own with a private range sized /16 to /28.
A network's location and range can't change later.
Adding servers
Pick the network when you deploy (under Advanced › Private networks).
Or open an existing server in the same location and use Private networks › Join. The server may need a reboot to bring up the new network.
NAT gateway
A NAT gateway lets servers with no public address reach the internet. It's billed by the hour; the price is shown when you add it.
Switch it on when you create the network, or with Switch NAT on on the network's page.
On the network's page, you can add Port forwarding rules to reach those servers from outside, and Gateway firewall rules.
To deploy a server with no public address, tick No public IPv4 (VPC only) when you deploy, with a NAT network chosen.
