Before you start, at your current registrar
Unlock the domain.
Get its auth code, also called the EPP or transfer code.
A domain can't be transferred within 60 days of being registered, transferred or changing owner.
Starting the transfer
Choose Domains › Transfer a Domain.
Enter the domain and choose Check to see whether it can move, and the price. The price includes a year's renewal.
Enter the Auth code.
Pick who it's registered to, how you pay and whether it renews automatically.
Choose Transfer, or Pay and transfer for a card.
While it moves
Transfers usually take five to seven days, and the domain keeps working throughout.
It keeps its current nameservers.
Your old registrar may email you to approve the transfer, which speeds it up.
If something needs you, such as a new auth code or unlocking the domain, we email you and show what to do on the domain's page.
You can Cancel and refund while it's waiting. If the transfer fails, the full amount goes back on your balance.
We email you when it has moved.
